RAPPORT A note on negative customers , GI / G / 1 workload , and risk processes
Recently the workload distribution in the M/G/1 queue with work removal has been analysed , and has been shown to exhibit a generalized Pollaczek-Khintchine form. The latter result is explained in this note by transforming the model into a standard GI/G/1 queue. Some extensions are also discussed, as well as a connection with a `dual' risk process.
متن کاملA Note on Non-negative Arma Processes
Recently, there are much works on developing models suitable for analyzing the volatility of a discrete-time process. Within the framework of Auto-Regressive Moving-Average (ARMA) processes, we derive a necessary and sufficient condition for the kernel to be non-negative. This condition is in terms of the generating function of the ARMA kernel which has a simple form. We discuss some useful con...
متن کاملNote on Negative Probabilities and Observable Processes
Amathematical framework for observable processes is introduced via the model of systems whose states may be time dependent and described by possibly ”negative probabilities”. The model generalizes and includes the linearly dependent models or observable operator models for classical discrete stochastic processes. Within this model a general convergence result for finite-dimensional processes, w...
متن کاملA note on non-negative continuous time processes
Recently there has been much work on developing models that are suitable for analysing the volatility of a continuous time process. One general approach is to define a volatility process as the convolution of a kernel with a non-decreasing Lévy process, which is non-negative if the kernel is non-negative.Within the framework of time continuous autoregressive moving average (CARMA) processes, we...
متن کاملA note on a class of delayed renewal risk processes
The Gerber-Shiu discounted penalty function is considered for a class of delayed renewal risk processes. Special cases of the model include the stationary renewal risk model and the situation where the time until the first claim is exponentially distributed. A mathematically tractable formula is derived for the Gerber-Shiu function, and consequently for quantities associated with the deficit at...
